REtrose is the online vintage brand with a super cool modern-day twist. Yes. We are talking foil-toed brogues and reworked shirts with shiny collars.

REtrose is the lovechild of Textiles graduate, Emma Rees, 24. She tells us that her final university project allowed her to rework an entire collection: “All the clothing I used and remade was either vintage or recycled and I completely recreated it.”
The project received a considerable amount of interest and today REtrose is available on both Etsy and ASOS Marketplace.
Emma says: “I wanted to prove you could make old useless clothes into something contemporary, beautiful and wearable.”
A believer in the “slow fashion” movement, Emma sources her vintage from bulk suppliers, charity shops and recycled good suppliers. She then reworks them. Her most popular item is her trademark foiled collar shirts: “I think they sell well, just because they’re unique pieces, and even though they are vintage, they have a contemporary feel,” she explains.
Emma lives in Cardiff and although the brand is primarily based online, we can expect to see her and her new stock on St. Mary Street Market over Easter and at the next Buffalo Boutique event in March.
